This page explains what personal data NichiMichi collects, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and your rights. It sits alongside our Cookie Policy and Data Subject Rights page.
NichiMichi Ltd is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. We're registered in England and Wales (company number 17219894). Registered office: 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA. Email: nichimichiltd@outlook.com.
When you order, we collect your name, delivery and billing address, email address, phone number and the items you bought. We need these to take payment, have your order packed and delivered, send order and delivery updates, and keep the records UK law requires. Your phone number and email are required because our courier uses them for delivery updates.
Lawful basis: performance of a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)) and legal obligation for record keeping (Article 6(1)(c)).
Payments are processed by Shopify Payments and any wallet you choose at checkout. We never see or store your full card number. These providers act as separate controllers for the data you give them directly.
You can check out as a guest. If you create an account, we store your name, email and order history so you can log in and see past orders.

If you email us, we keep your message and reply address so we can help you. We don't use support messages for marketing.
Lawful basis: legitimate interests in answering you (Article 6(1)(f)).
We don't currently collect marketing sign-ups or send marketing emails. If we add a newsletter or offers by email, we'll only send them if you actively opt in (never with a pre-ticked box), and every email will include an unsubscribe link.

Shopify Network Intelligence and the Shop app: Shopify may also use order and customer data, combined with data from across Shopify, to improve its products, run the Shop app and personalise ads. For this use, Shopify acts as an independent controller under its own Privacy Policy.
We don't sell your personal data. We may disclose data where the law requires it (for example to HMRC or under a court order).
Some providers (for example Shopify, Cloudflare, Google and TikTok) may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Transfers are protected by UK adequacy regulations (including the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified), the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or equivalent safeguards.

The whole site runs over HTTPS, payments use Shopify's PCI-DSS certified checkout, and access to customer data is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Our shop is for adults aged 18 or over. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child has given us data, email us and we'll delete it.
We'll update the date at the top whenever this page changes. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage.
